Shoreline Series
Canoeing,running rapids, portaging, hiking, exploring waterfalls archepelagos,and just admiring the overhanging foliage along rivers, lakes and creeks led to a series of works which I call the Shoreline Series. Sometimes the series includes large ocean beaches and occasionally harbours and docks. Water movement and reflections have always mesmerized me and are challenging to paint. What catches my attention are the light patterns and shadows and the transparency. Favourite haunts are the Magnetewan River, Ahmic Lake, Snug Harbour, Temagami, Killarney, Georgian Bay, Algonquin Park, the Oxtongue River and just about any little creek.
